Checking out: 'We Are.xyz'

It has been a while since I posted here. Let me explain ...

Perhaps because I am getting older and more conscious of my mortally, I have been thinking about how best to ensure that my children and future generations have access to all my research. I have spent a lot of time, over many years, researching, analysing, synthesising and documenting information. I don't want relatives to have to duplicate the effort.

So, when I came across the relatively new website We Are.xyz, I saw a great opportunity to build an interactive and collaborative family history archive that I can share with family and progressively add information to. I can also make trusted family members Admins or Editors of the archive to encourage their collaboration as well as ensure it can be preserved for future generations.

As the owner, Simon, explains here, it's not just about building a family history website. We Are.xyz is an interactive family history archive that can be easily shared with family members; each member able to view their history from their own perspective.

My intention is to have two archives at We Are.xyz: A biological one comprising both my and my husband's trees joined together; and an adoptive one.  At the moment, I am focusing on consolidating the information I already have and getting it into my family history archive so that I can share with family; that includes much of the information found throughout this Blog.

If you think you may be interested in We Are.xyz yourself, check out the Demo and learn more on the We Are website. There is also an active group on Facebook where people sometimes post examples from their own family history archive on We Are.

UPDATE 23 August 2023

We Are.xyz has now introduced 'integrated blogging'. This supports an interconnection between family archive building and the sharing of family history information via blog posts. This means that any article or document in your archive can become a post in your blog at the click of a button - Blog and Build

Simon explains a little about the blogging feature here
